Prayers for the Fifth Sunday of Easter

259 Prayers for the Fifth Sunday of Easter Abiding in the Vine

The Fifth Sunday of Easter carries a powerful message. Jesus is the vine. We are the branches. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

These words from John 15 are the heart of this Sunday. The readings focus on abiding. Staying connected. Remaining in Jesus. Not just visiting him on Sundays. Not just thinking about him occasionally. Abiding. Dwelling. Living in him.

This collection contains 259 prayers for the Fifth Sunday of Easter. These prayers help you abide in Christ. They help you stay connected to the vine. They help you bear fruit that will last. They help you understand what it means to remain in Jesus.

You do not need to pray all 259. Pick the sections that speak to your heart. Pray them throughout the week leading to the Fifth Sunday of Easter. Let these prayers root you deeper in the vine.

How to Use These Prayers

The Fifth Sunday of Easter is sometimes called Good Shepherd Sunday in some years, but the focus is consistently on abiding. Use these prayers each day during the week after the 5th Sunday. Let them help you stay connected to Jesus.

For families and small groups, these prayers work well as opening or closing prayers. Read them aloud together. Let each person share one way they are trying to abide in Christ.

These 259 prayers cover every aspect of abiding. Remaining in Jesus. Bearing fruit. Being pruned. Loving one another. Keeping commandments. Asking in prayer. Having joy complete.
