279 Easter Prayers for Resurrection Sunday Joy Doubt and Victory Complete Collection
The stone rolled away before sunrise. The women arrived expecting a dead body. Instead they found an empty tomb and an angel with shocking news. He is not here. He has risen. That announcement changed everything. Death lost its sting. Fear lost its power. Hope found its footing.
Easter morning stands alone. No other religious holiday celebrates a founder who walked out of his own grave. Muslims visit Muhammad’s tomb. Buddhists honor the memory of the Buddha. Christians gather at an empty hole in a rock because Jesus keeps his promises.
This collection gives you 279 Easter prayers. Some celebrate the joy of the resurrection. Others wrestle with what Easter means for ordinary Tuesday afternoons. Many address the gap between Easter Sunday morning and Monday morning reality. How does resurrection change laundry, traffic jams, and difficult coworkers?
Easter prayers work best when they stay anchored in the Gospel accounts. The women at the tomb. Peter and John racing to see for themselves. Mary weeping in the garden until Jesus calls her name. Thomas touching wounds eight days later. These are not abstract stories. They are real moments from real people whose worlds turned upside down.
The Gospel writers record Easter with interesting details. John arrives at the tomb first but waits for Peter. Peter goes in and sees the linen cloths folded neatly. Not thrown around. Folded. A detail that suggests calm, not chaos. Grave clothes lying there like a bed someone just left.
Mary Magdalene gets the first resurrection appearance. Jesus calls her by name. She recognizes his voice. He tells her not to cling to him because he has not yet ascended. That brief conversation holds so much. Resurrection bodies are different. Relationships change. But the voice stays the same.
Peter gets special mention. The angel tells the women to tell his disciples and Peter. The failed disciple gets named personally. Jesus wants Peter to know that denial did not end the relationship. Restoration was already planned. Easter includes special mercy for people who have blown it badly.
The road to Emmaus happens later on Easter afternoon. Two disciples walk away from Jerusalem defeated. Jesus walks with them. They do not recognize him. He explains the scriptures. When he breaks bread, their eyes open. Then he vanishes. Their hearts burned within them as he talked. That burning heart is what Easter prayers aim to ignite.
These 279 prayers follow the Easter story from sunrise to evening. Opening prayers greet the risen Lord. Resurrection declaration prayers shout the good news. Garden encounter prayers imagine Mary’s experience. Road to Emmaus prayers ask for burning hearts. Evening prayers close the day with gratitude.
Worship leaders can use these prayers for Easter Sunday services. Family devotions work well with shorter prayers selected from the collection. Personal prayer time comes alive when you pray through the resurrection accounts slowly, line by line.
The number 279 is not accidental. It represents enough variety to keep Easter fresh for years. Each section serves a specific purpose. Together they cover every angle of resurrection faith.
Now let us get into the prayers. Each one connects to the biblical Easter story. Use them on Easter Sunday. Use them throughout the Easter season. Use them any time you need to remind yourself that death does not get the final word.
Opening Easter Prayers
-
Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Those words echo through two thousand Easters. Let them echo through me today.
-
Jesus, the tomb could not hold you. Keep holding me. I need your grip more than you need my praise.
-
Father, you raised your Son from the dead. Raise my hopes. They have been buried too long.
-
Spirit, breathe resurrection life into this gathering. Let dead things come alive.
-
Lord, the women came to anoint a corpse. They found an empty tomb. Surprise us the same way.
-
Jesus, death lost. Life won. That victory belongs to you. I celebrate it with everything I have.
-
God of the empty tomb, fill my emptiness with your fullness.
-
Father, the stone rolled away before anyone arrived. No one helped. No one moved it. You did.
-
Jesus, I come to this Easter morning not because I deserve to be here but because you invite me.
-
Lord, let Easter not be just a day on my calendar. Let it be the lens through which I see everything.
Easter Sunrise Prayers
-
The sun rises on this Easter morning. But a greater light has already risen. Jesus, you are the true sunrise.
-
Lord, the women left home while it was still dark. I wake up early too. Meet me in the darkness.
-
Father, dawn breaks over the garden tomb. Let dawn break over my hardened heart.
-
Jesus, you are the morning star that never sets. Shine on my waking hours.
-
Spirit, as the sun climbs higher, let my joy climb higher too.
-
Lord, I watch the sunrise and remember that you rose from death. Both are daily miracles.
-
God, the earth turns toward the sun. Turn my heart toward you this Easter morning.
-
Father, the women did not know what they would find. I do not know what this day holds. Walk with me.
-
Jesus, the stone is rolled away. Let me walk into new tombs of my own making and find them empty.
-
Lord, thank you for sleep that restores and resurrection that redeems. Good morning, risen Savior.
Resurrection Declaration Prayers
-
He is risen. Not a metaphor. Not a symbol. A fact of history. A door swung open for everyone.
-
Jesus, you declared on the cross, It is finished. The tomb declares, It is just beginning.
-
Father, death could not hold your Son. Let nothing hold me that you want to set free.
-
Spirit, let the resurrection be my anchor. When everything shakes, this holds.
-
Lord, the angel said, Come see the place where he lay. I come. I see. I believe.
-
Jesus, your resurrection is not just a past event. It is a present power. Let it flow through me.
-
God, if Easter is true, nothing else matters. If Easter is false, nothing else matters. I bet everything on true.
-
Father, the empty tomb changes how I face death. It is not an ending. It is a door.
-
Jesus, you are alive. Say it again. You are alive. Let that truth sink past my head into my bones.
-
Lord, I shout with the church across every century. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
Prayers for the Women at the Tomb
-
Lord, the women came to serve a dead body. They left as the first preachers of the resurrection.
-
Father, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome. Three women the world overlooked. You chose them first.
-
Jesus, the women asked, Who will roll away the stone? They found it already rolled away. Answer my impossible questions.
-
Spirit, give me the courage of those women. They did not stay silent. They ran to tell.
-
Lord, the women were afraid and overjoyed at the same time. That is my exact Easter feeling.
-
God, the women held your feet and worshiped you. Let me hold onto you with that same desperation.
-
Father, the women heard the angel tell them not to be afraid. Tell me the same thing.
-
Jesus, the women received a mission. Go tell my brothers. Give me my Easter mission.
-
Lord, the women are the unsung heroes of Easter. Thank you for honoring the faithful ones.
-
Spirit, let me be like the women. Not first in the world’s eyes. First in yours.
Prayers for Peter and John
-
Peter and John ran to the tomb. John outran Peter but waited at the door. Youth is fast. Respect is slow.
-
Lord, John bent down and saw the linen cloths. He saw and believed. Let me see with the same faith.
-
Father, Peter went into the tomb. He did not just peek. He entered. Let me enter into resurrection reality.
-
Jesus, Peter had denied you three days earlier. He still ran to the tomb. Denial did not kill his hope.
-
Lord, John outran Peter but let Peter go in first. Teach me to honor others even when I arrive first.
-
God, the disciples went home after seeing the empty tomb. They did not understand yet. Let me keep seeking.
-
Father, Peter needed to see for himself. I need that same personal encounter. Show me.
-
Jesus, John believed without fully understanding. Let my belief outpace my understanding.
-
Lord, the beloved disciple leaned on your chest at the Last Supper. He saw the empty tomb with his own eyes. Let me lean and see.
-
Spirit, let the race to the tomb continue. Every generation runs to tell the next.
Prayers for Mary Magdalene in the Garden
-
Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. Tears blurred her vision. She did not recognize Jesus until he spoke her name.
-
Lord, Mary thought you were the gardener. In a way, you are. You tend souls like soil.
-
Father, Jesus said her name. Mary. That one word broke through grief. Say my name.
-
Jesus, Mary wanted to hold onto you. You said, Do not cling to me. Teach me when to hold on and when to let go.
-
Spirit, Mary mistook the risen Lord for a stranger. How often do I mistake you?
-
Lord, the gardener told Mary, He is not here. You are the Gardener. Where are you gardening today?
-
God, Mary went from weeping to worship in one moment of recognition. Turn my tears into worship.
-
Father, Jesus told Mary to go tell the brothers. She became the apostle to the apostles. Send me.
-
Jesus, you appeared first to a woman with a troubled past. Easter is for people like Mary. And me.
-
Lord, let me hear you speak my name. That is enough. I will go and tell.
Prayers for the Road to Emmaus

-
Lord, you walked beside them but they did not recognize you. Walk beside me. Open my eyes.
-
Father, Cleopas said, We had hoped. Past tense. Crushed hope. Restore my crushed hopes.
-
Jesus, you started with Moses and all the prophets. You showed how scripture points to you. Do that for me.
-
Spirit, their hearts burned within them as Jesus explained the word. Let my heart burn the same way.
-
Lord, they urged you to stay because evening was coming. Stay with me. My evening is coming too.
-
God, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes opened. Open my eyes at communion.
-
Father, once they recognized Jesus, he disappeared. The presence was real even when visible signs left.
-
Jesus, the disciples ran back to Jerusalem that same hour. No waiting. No sleeping. Give me that urgency.
-
Lord, the Emmaus road leads to every disappointed disciple. Walk my road. Break my bread. Open my eyes.
Prayers for Thomas
-
Thomas was not with the others when Jesus came. He missed it. Eight days later, Jesus came back just for him.
-
Lord, Thomas said he would not believe without touching your wounds. You invited him to touch. Thank you.
-
Father, Thomas moved from doubter to worshiper in one sentence. My Lord and my God. Let that be my prayer.
-
Jesus, you said blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. That is me. Bless me.
-
Spirit, Thomas has been called Doubting Thomas for two thousand years. He was also believing Thomas. Honor both.
-
Lord, Thomas missed the first appearance. I have missed you too. Come back for me.
-
God, Thomas needed to touch. Some people need physical proof. You honored his need.
-
Father, Thomas went to India as a missionary and died for his faith. Doubt did not stop him. Do not let my doubt stop me.
-
Jesus, you waited eight days for Thomas. You are patient. Wait for the doubters in my life.
-
Lord, let the church welcome Thomases. Honest doubters who become fierce believers.
Easter Joy Prayers

Joy comes with this morning. Not forced happiness. Deep joy that death could not kill.
-
Lord, the women were afraid yet filled with joy. Let both live in me. Fear and joy can share space.
-
Father, the disciples disbelieved for joy. It seemed too good to be true. Let me risk believing good news.
-
Jesus, your resurrection turned Friday’s sorrow into Sunday’s song. Turn my Fridays into Sundays.
-
Spirit, let the joy of Easter be contagious. Infect everyone I meet today.
-
Lord, I choose joy. Not because I feel it. Because you give it. I receive your gift.
-
God, the tomb is empty. The stone is rolled away. Death is defeated. That is joy worth shouting.
-
Father, let my Easter joy be believable. Not fake smiles. Real hope that looks trouble in the eye.
-
Jesus, you said no one would take your joy from your disciples. Guard my joy from thieves.
-
Lord, I laugh because the last laugh belongs to you. Death thought it won. You showed up on Sunday.
Easter Peace Prayers
-
Jesus, you appeared to terrified disciples and said Peace be with you. Say it to me.
-
Lord, peace came through locked doors. My doors are locked with fear. Walk through them.
-
Father, the disciples had abandoned you. You still offered peace. Offer me the same undeserved peace.
-
Spirit, let your peace rule in my heart. When anxiety knocks, let peace answer the door.
-
Jesus, peace with God changes everything. The war is over. I lay down my weapons.
-
Lord, I have been fighting you, running from you, hiding from you. Peace treaty. I surrender.
-
God, let the peace of Easter calm the storm inside me. Racing thoughts. Churning stomach. Quiet me.
-
Father, I release my grip on outcomes. Trying to control everything steals my peace. Open my hands.
-
Jesus, you are my peace. Not a feeling. A person. I rest in you.
-
Lord, let me carry Easter peace into the week ahead. Monday needs what Sunday provides.
Easter Forgiveness Prayers
-
Jesus, you forgave Peter who denied you. Forgive me. I have denied you in a thousand small ways.
-
Lord, you forgave the disciples who ran away. I have run too. Call me back.
-
Father, you forgave those who crucified you while you were dying. Forgive my enemies. Forgive me.
-
Spirit, let the forgiveness of Easter flow through me to everyone who has wronged me.
-
Jesus, I confess that I have held grudges that you would have dropped. Soften my heart.
-
Lord, I need to forgive myself. If you have forgiven me, who am I to hold out?
-
God, let me receive your forgiveness without earning it. That is the hardest part. I do not deserve this.
-
Father, Peter needed a private conversation with Jesus after the resurrection. Do I need one too?
-
Jesus, you restored Peter publicly by the Sea of Galilee. Restore me publicly or privately. Either way.
-
Lord, let Easter forgiveness be my default setting. Quick to forgive. Slow to resent.
Easter Hope Prayers
-
Jesus, hope looks like an empty tomb. Not empty like abandoned. Empty like not needed anymore.
-
Lord, the women came expecting a corpse. They left expecting resurrection. Change my expectations.
-
Father, hope does not disappoint because your love pours into our hearts. Pour hope into me.
-
Spirit, I have been hopeless about some situations for years. Breathe resurrection hope into them.
-
Jesus, Cleopas said, We had hoped. Past tense. Turn my past tense hope into present tense trust.
-
Lord, hope is not wishful thinking. It is confident waiting. I wait for you.
-
God, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available for my dead situations. I hope.
-
Father, let hope be an anchor for my soul. When storms come, this anchor holds.
-
Jesus, you are the living hope. Not a doctrine. A person. I hope in you.
-
Lord, I will hope even when I cannot see. That is the definition of hope. Not seeing. Trusting.
Easter Victory Prayers
-
Jesus, you disarmed the powers of darkness. You made a public spectacle of them. Victory is yours.
-
Lord, death thought it won on Friday. Sunday proved otherwise. Let me live in Sunday victory.
-
Father, the grave could not hold your Son. Let no grave hold anything you want alive.
-
Spirit, victory over sin is real. I do not have to keep repeating the same failures. Easter broke that cycle.
-
Jesus, you lead a train of captives. Sin, death, and hell follow you like defeated enemies.
-
Lord, I confess that I have lived like a loser when you won the victory. Teach me to win.
-
God, victory is not the absence of struggle. It is the presence of the Victor in the struggle.
-
Father, let Easter victory show up in my marriage, my parenting, my work. Everywhere.
-
Jesus, you won. That means I win. Not because I am strong. Because I am connected to you.
-
Lord, I raise a victory shout on this Easter morning. Christ is risen. The battle is over. The victory is won.

-
Lord, you told Peter, Feed my sheep. Show me who needs feeding today.
-
God, mission starts where I am. Not Africa. Not Asia. My street. My office. My kitchen.
-
Father, let my Easter story be believable because I live differently. Not perfect. Different.
-
Jesus, you gave the Great Commission after your resurrection. I receive that commission.
-
Lord, send me. Not because I am qualified. Because you are with me. That is qualification enough.
Easter Doubt Prayers
-
Jesus, I have honest questions about the resurrection. How does a dead body come back to life?
-
Lord, my mind wants evidence. My heart wants encounter. Give me both.
-
Father, I believe. Help my unbelief. Hold both realities together in me.
-
Spirit, do not shame me for my doubts. Thomas doubted. You still appeared.
-
Jesus, I want to believe like the women believed. Fear and joy together. That I can manage.
-
Lord, the disciples disbelieved for joy. It seemed too good to be true. I understand that.
-
God, if Easter is a legend, then I am wasting my life. Prove it true to my doubting heart.
-
Father, let me say my Lord and my God. Not as a slogan. As a confession from a healed doubter.
-
Jesus, you appeared to more than five hundred people after you rose. That is a lot of witnesses.
-
Lord, I choose to believe. My doubts can come along for the ride. But I choose belief.
Easter Evening Prayers
-
Jesus, this Easter day ends. But your resurrection never ends. Thank you for today.
-
Lord, I started the day at the empty tomb. I end the day at rest. Peace be with me.
-
Father, I have feasted on Easter joy. Now I rest in Easter peace.
-
Spirit, let what I learned today stay with me through the night.
-
Jesus, the disciples gathered behind locked doors on Easter evening. You came. Come to my locked room.

God, I lay down to sleep in the confidence that you have already defeated death. Good night, risen Lord.
-
Father, thank you for the gift of this Easter Sunday. I did nothing to deserve it. You gave it anyway.
-
Jesus, let my sleep be peaceful. No nightmares about death. Death lost today.
-
Lord, from Easter morning to Easter evening, you have been good. Keep being good tomorrow.
Easter Monday Prayers
-
Jesus, Easter Sunday is over. Monday morning arrived. Help me carry resurrection into this ordinary day.

Lord, the stone rolled away yesterday. Laundry piles up today. Let me find you in both.
-
Father, the women left the tomb with joy. I leave my house with tasks. Bless the tasks.
-
Spirit, let my coworkers see something different about me today. Not weird. Resurrected.
-
Jesus, you cooked breakfast for disciples on the beach. Bless my breakfast. Bless my work.
-
Lord, Resurrection changes Mondays. The same power that raised you faces my spreadsheets and emails.
-
God, I tend to forget Easter by Tuesday. Anchor it in my memory. Do not let me forget.
-
Father, let me be an Emmaus road for someone today. Walk beside a discouraged soul.
-
Jesus, if I face bad news today, remind me that Sunday is coming. Not just someday. Every Sunday.
-
Lord, let Easter Monday be as holy as Easter Sunday. All days belong to you.
Easter Season Prayers
-
Jesus, Easter is not a day. It is a season. Fifty days of celebration. Let me celebrate all of them.
-
Lord, the disciples spent forty days with you after the resurrection. Give me forty days of fresh encounter.
-
Father, let the Easter season change my habits. Not just my calendar.
-
Spirit, fifty days until Pentecost. Prepare me for the Spirit’s outpouring.
-
Jesus, you appeared over and over during those forty days. Keep appearing.
-
Lord, I tend to rush from Easter to ordinary time. Slow me down. Let me linger.
-
God, let every Sunday be a mini Easter. The Lord’s Day. The day of resurrection.
-
Father, the church sings Alleluia throughout Easter season. Let my life sing Alleluia.
-
Jesus, let the Easter season be a time of deep joy. Not shallow celebration. Deep roots joy.
-
Lord, I commit to celebrating Easter for the full fifty days. No shortcuts. No early return to ordinary.
Easter for the Grieving
-
Jesus, I come to Easter with a heavy heart. Someone I love is not here to celebrate.
-
Lord, the women came to the tomb grieving. You met them there. Meet me in my grief.
-
Father, Mary wept at the tomb while the risen Lord stood nearby. I weep too. Are you nearby?
-
Spirit, grief and Easter joy feel like opposites. Help them coexist in me.
-
Jesus, you wept at Lazarus tomb even though you knew you would raise him. Tears are allowed.
-
Lord, the empty tomb means my loved one’s death is not permanent. I will see them again.
-
God, let Easter hope be stronger than my grief. Not a denial of loss. A promise of reunion.
-
Father, for those facing their first Easter without someone, send extra comfort.
-
Jesus, you conquered death. That does not erase my tears. It gives them a horizon.
-
Lord, I grieve but not as those without hope. I have hope. Hold onto me until hope becomes sight.
Easter for the Suffering
-
Jesus, I suffer while the world celebrates Easter. Where are you in my pain?
-
Lord, you suffered before you rose. You understand suffering from the inside.
-
Father, let resurrection not remove my suffering but redeem it.
-
Spirit, give me strength to endure whatever comes. Easter power for Easter people.
-
Jesus, your resurrection body still had wounds. Healing does not always mean removal of scars.
-
Lord, if my suffering continues, give me grace. If it ends, give me gratitude.
-
God, I do not understand why you let some suffer and heal others. But I trust you.
-
Father, let my suffering produce something good. Patience. Character. Hope.
-
Jesus, you were perfected through suffering. Let my suffering shape me toward you.
-
Lord, I offer my pain to you. Do something resurrection shaped with it.
Easter for the Unbelieving
-
Jesus, I pray for people in my life who think Easter is a fairy tale. Open their eyes.
-
Lord, my friend calls the resurrection a myth. Give me gentle words, not arguments.
-
Father, the world mocks what it does not understand. Forgive their mockery. They do not know.
-
Spirit, use the beauty of creation, the testimony of believers, and the witness of changed lives.
-
Jesus, you appeared to Thomas, a skeptic. Appear to the skeptics I love.
-
Lord, let my life be evidence that resurrection is real. Not perfect. Forgiven.
-
God, soften hard hearts. Plow the rocky soil of unbelief.
-
Father, send dreams and visions to those who will not read a Bible.
-
Jesus, you are the answer to every honest question. Reveal yourself.
-
Lord, let this Easter be the day someone I love crosses from unbelief to faith.
Easter for Children

Father, protect children who are scared of death. Easter means death does not win.
-
Spirit, give parents simple words to explain resurrection to little ears.
-
Jesus, you said let the little children come to you. They come this Easter.
-
Lord, for children in hard homes, be their safe place. Their resurrection hope.
-
God, let the joy of Easter fill children’s hearts. Not sugar rush joy. Deep gladness.
-
Father, raise up a generation of children who believe the resurrection before the world lies to them.

Jesus, I pray for elderly saints who have celebrated many Easters. Keep their faith strong.
-
Lord, for those whose bodies fail but whose spirits soar, give them grace.
-
Father, for those in nursing homes who cannot attend Easter services, visit them.
-
Spirit, let elderly believers share their Easter testimonies with younger generations.
-
Jesus, death is closer for them than for me. Let them face it with resurrection confidence.
-
Lord, for elderly people who feel forgotten, remind them that you remember every name.
-
God, let their long lives of faithfulness bear fruit in the next generation.
-
Father, for those with dementia who cannot remember the resurrection, hold their memory for them.
-
Jesus, the resurrection means their aging bodies will one day be made new. No more pain.
-
Lord, let elderly believers finish well. Easter joy till the very end.
Easter for the Persecuted Church
-
Jesus, Christians in some countries cannot celebrate Easter openly. Meet them in secret.
-
Lord, for those arrested for worshiping you today, be their cellmate and their freedom.
-
Father, protect believers who meet in underground churches. No door is locked to you.
-
Spirit, give persecuted Christians boldness like the first disciples.
-
Jesus, you were persecuted. You understand. Stand with your persecuted family.
-
Lord, let the resurrection hope of persecuted believers shame their oppressors.
-
God, convert those who persecute your church. Turn Sauls into Pauls.
-
Father, for every church building destroyed, raise up two house churches.
-
Jesus, you promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against your church. Prove it.
-
Lord, let Easter be a day of deliverance for some imprisoned believer today.
Easter for the Poor
-
Jesus, you rose from the dead. But people still go to bed hungry. Move your church.
-
Lord, the empty tomb means you defeated death. Help us defeat poverty with the same power.
-
Father, let Easter generosity flow from comfortable Christians to suffering neighbors.
-
Spirit, break the heart of every wealthy believer for the poor.
-
Jesus, you lived simply. You died naked. You rose with nothing. Teach me detachment.
-
Lord, use my Easter celebration to fill food banks, shelter beds, and offering plates.
-
God, let the poor hear the Easter message not just in words but in warm meals.
-
Father, raise up leaders from the poor who will preach resurrection power.
-
Jesus, you said the poor you will always have with you. Not as a excuse to ignore them. As a call to serve.
-
Lord, let Easter be a redistribution of hope, and also of resources.
Easter for Creation
-
Jesus, you rose in a garden. New creation started where old creation began.
-
Lord, the earth groans for resurrection. Trees bud. Flowers bloom. New life pushes through death.
-
Father, let the resurrection of Jesus mean the renewal of all creation. Not just human souls.
-
Spirit, teach us to care for this earth that you will one day remake.
-
Jesus, every spring is an Easter sermon. Death gives way to life. Always.
-
Lord, forgive us for treating creation like garbage. You plan to renew it. Help us treat it with respect.
-
God, let the resurrection hope extend to polluted rivers, clear cut forests, and endangered species.
-
Father, you are making all things new. Not just some things. All things.
-
Jesus, let me be a gardener of your creation. Tending. Planting. Hoping.
-
Lord, the stone rolled away from the tomb. Roll away our stone heart toward the environment.
Easter for the Brokenhearted
-
Jesus, my heart broke this year. A relationship. A dream. A death. Can resurrection fix broken hearts?
-
Lord, the women came to the tomb with broken hearts. They left with healed hearts. Heal mine.
-
Father, Mary lost you twice. First at the cross, then in the garden when you told her not to cling. She still worshiped.
-
Spirit, let my broken heart be the very place where resurrection starts.
-
Jesus, you bind up the brokenhearted. I bring you my pieces.
-
Lord, I have tried to fix myself. I cannot. Fix me.
-
God, let the same power that raised you from the dead raise my broken heart to new life.
-
Father, do not just glue my heart back together. Make it new.
-
Jesus, you understand heartbreak. Yours broke on the cross. Heal me from the inside.
-
Lord, I give you my shattered heart. Piece by piece. Take it. Make it whole.
Easter Morning Prayers
-
Jesus, good morning. The tomb is empty. My heart is full. Let me carry this fullness.
-
Lord, the sun rises on a new day. The Son rises on a new creation. Let me live in both.
-
Father, as I wake, let resurrection reality wake me. Not just my eyes. My spirit.
-
Spirit, breathe on this Easter morning. Let every breath be a prayer.
-
Jesus, I eat breakfast on this Easter morning remembering that you cooked breakfast for disciples on the shore.
-
Lord, let the joy of this morning last longer than the chocolate eggs and the ham dinner.
-
God, I step into this Easter day with confidence. You have already stepped out of the tomb.
-
Father, let my Easter morning worship be a foretaste of eternal morning worship.
-
Jesus, from this Easter morning until the final Easter, keep me. Keep me believing. Keep me hoping. Keep me yours. He is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia.
